My 4 kits from The Flying Unicorn preorder arrived just this last Saturday - it really is like Christmas opening the big box with all 4 kits.  There are so many wonderful items included!

I made this little card using some of the elements from the September kits.

Card Details:

Paper:  Nature's Garden by Docraft and a decoupage bird from the Nature's Garden collection as well (from the September Small Art Big Passion kit)
Flowers:  Prima Cabriole Blue Moon (from the September Mixed Passion kit)
Blue hemp twine from a previous Flying Unicorn kit
Ivory lace from a previous Flying Unicorn kit
Prima Say it with Crystals from a previous Flying Unicorn kit
Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Vintage Photo (around edgings)
Tools:  Prima's Ingvild Bolme Distressing Tool

I only used a few elements from 2 of the 4 September kits.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Steampunk Debutante Triptych

I've developed a fondness for anything steampunkish.  When Graphic 45 came out with the new Steampunk Debutante series - I ordered 2 sets of it all - to keep it in reserve.  I purchased the triptych panels from The Retro Cafe Art shop and just waited until my preorders arrived to put it together.  I have another planned - but will be using metal adornments on the next one as well.  Just a "for fun" project - no reason - which is the best kind of project.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Been a couple of crazy weeks, but I finally finished this layout.  It is of my husband in our boat on Kentucky Lake - he is checking the screen - looking to see where the fish are.  At the bottom of my layout, I "borrowed" a couple of his little fishing lures from one of his tackle boxes - he has so many tackle boxes and lures - he'll never know these little ones are missing.

I am going to enter this layout in the 7 Dots Studio challenge for August-September 2015 - and the theme is vacation.  Below is the graphic for the challenge and a link under the graphic will take you to the challenge page.

Layout Details:

Paper:  7 Dots Studio - Sea Foam - 9th Wave; Cold Country - Freezing Tears; Love is in the Air - Thunder of the Sea
Mediums:  Art Basics Heavy White Gesso; Art Basics Light Paste (mixed with teal mica powder for the stenciling); Soft Matte Gel; Heavy Black Gesso
Stencils:  Stencil Girl  Small Grid Lines and Waves

Steampunk Box

What a day - can I just say I'm glad it's over!

Anyway - onto the post - I had purchased 8 wooden cigar boxes on ebay and this is the first one I've altered.  I took it all apart, applied black gesso, G45 papers, and metal pieces on the top and a clock key for the handle - and 2 new hinges on the back side.

This box will hold some odds and ends - just have to find a place for this new box!

Box Recipe:

Box:  Wooden Cigar Box from Ebay
Mediums:  Finnabair Art Basics Heavy Black Gesso; Finnabair Art Basics Soft Matte Gel
Papers:  Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells Collection Papers and Chipboards
Misc.:  Tim Holtz Clock Key; Tim Holtz Vial
Metals:  Finnabair and Flying Unicorn

Thanks for taking a peek!  Have a great week-end.
